2024 Dave Mohs Memorial Tournament Important Information

Match Procedures:

All matches are 2 out of 3 games to 25 with 3rd game to 15. A score sheet will be kept (please make sure you have someone who knows how to do the scorebook). Lineup sheets will need to be turned in. The current substitution rule applies. Warm up will be 4 minutes / team. No shared hitting.

Playoff Procedures:

***Playoffs will start at 9:00am on Saturday. Playoffs will be single elimination matches consisting of 2 out of 3 games to 25 points with 3rd game to 15.

In all brackets, if you lose in the first round of playoffs, you will play a consolation match. This ensures everyone gets at least two matches on Saturday. ***The consolation brackets will NOT be played out. After the 1st match the losing teams will officiate on their court.

First and second place teams in each pool will advance to the championship round of 16 teams at Edison High School and Huntington Beach High School. The finals will be at Edison. If you are playing at Huntington Beach HS, you will need to travel to Edison HS for the finals. Please travel quickly and safely. The Championship final is scheduled for 3:00pm.

All third place teams will play at Newport Harbor HS in the Silver Division. All fourth place teams will play at Marina HS in the Bronze Division.

Tie Breaking Procedures:

Ties will be broken with a 1 game playoff to 25 ONLY if the tie affects a team’s entry into the championship division. *If there is a 2 way tie for first or third the tiebreaker is head-to-head record. If there is a 3 way tie for first, the first place team will be decided initially by game ratio and then by point ratio if necessary. The two remaining teams will play one game to 25 points. The winner is 2nd place and the loser will be 3rd place. *If there is a 3 way tie for second place the highest ranked team will be determined by game ratio and if necessary point ratio. The highest rank team will officiate while the other two teams play 1 game to 25 points. At the conclusion of that game the highest ranked team will play the winner 1 game to 25 points for second place. (PLEASE DON’T HAVE ANY 3 WAY TIES FOR 2ND PLACE!)
